Reflections on Society: Why High School Sucked!

When I started The MCS1 Show, I wanted to discuss society & counter culture.  Something that was always on my mind was how much I hated high school. When I was in high school people would constantly say I was just a negative person because I didn't enjoy my time in the grand social experiment with government funding known as high school (this was also my great introduction to gas lighting).  I wanted to start off my 1st episode with a bang, and talk about something I really loathed.  Thus, the reason "Why high school sucked" was the perfect pilot episode.  

There were many things I hated about high school, but what pissed me off the most about it; was how everyone pretended to that it was so wonderful.  It wasn't just the students and teachers, it was the "adults" as well.  Everyone drank the "kool aid" of my high school. Most of the people in my home town could be spotted by their purple and gold school spirit colors that were constantly worn.  Side Note: Whoever had the monopoly on selling school paraphernalia in Logan, IA was one rich SOB. I even had a teacher who once said "High school would be the greatest years of your life". This guy was also an asshole who liked to use scare tactics on students rather than teach, but I digress.  

It wasn't until MANY years that I found out that I wasn't alone in my high school hatred.  I just lived in a shitty town that shamed people who held a different opinoin than theirs. - MCS1
