Nerd Discussion: Fallout
I remember the first time I saw a Fallout game. One of my roommates had gotten really "sick" from something, and by sick I mean he was playing video games while sitting on the couch for like a week. One of the games he was playing was Fallout New Vegas. Watching him play kind of turned me from the game to be honest. He wasn't very good and he also had a strategy guide that refereed to every 5 seconds. I'll admit I didn't give the Fallout universe a fair chance, at first.
I eventually got to a point where I wanted to try a new gaming universe to get into. I'm very picky about my video game choices. I want either a vast universe or just something mindless, regardless if I'm not feeling it with a game series I don't play it for long. My friend recommended the very same Fallout game my roommate was playing. She told me how awesome it was and so I gave Fallout: New Vegas a chance. It turned out to be one of (if not my favorite) video game of all time. Eventually I moved on to play Fallout 3. I personally loved it because I've traveled to DC where it takes place. Caleb really loves it because he used to live in DC. Overall the game was great and really had an awesome story.
A little side note. When Fallout 4 was announced I went bananas I listened to the trailer music for it on repeat while at work. When I quit my shit job at the tech company back in 2015, it was literally right before Fallout 4 came out. The joke among my old coworkers and and friends was that I quit to play Fallout. I wish that was the case, but in reality I just needed out of a terrible company with toxic management. During my time looking for a new job I spent many hours playing fallout 4.
When I was in between jobs most recently, I spent time playing Fallout 4. The nice thing about this series is it will always be there for me, it will always continue to grow and evolve, because War... War never changes. - MCS1
